2020 PROGRAM UPDATE

We want to thank you for your patience as we navigate this challenging time and determine how best to serve our community this summer. As we prepare to reopen, our number-one priority is the well-being of our participants and staff. We look forward to sharing with you more information about our plans as soon as they are available.

The pandemic has impacted many areas of our lives, including our programs at Brooklyn Boulders. Our goal is to provide as much normalcy as we can while adapting to all the changes.   As always, our programs will aim to empower, challenge, and inspire your child through climbing and team building activities. All programs, policies, and procedures will be adjusted to accommodate additional precautionary measures that meet the highest possible standards for community health

The following modifications will be made to our Summer Adventures program:

+    Thorough daily wellness checks for staff and participants.
+    Groups will be no larger than 5 kids to one staff member.
+    Additional sanitization and disinfecting procedures.
+    Facility capacity will be extremely limited to maintain social distancing.

 

CANCELLATIONS + RESCHEDULING

If your session has been cancelled, we're offering families three options to move forward:
+ Exchange your current Summer Adventures registration for account credit.
+ Reschedule (space permitting) for a later date this Summer or Fall.
+ Transfer your account credit and use it toward an alternative service, such as Family Membership.

We understand the current
situation may lead you to reconsider joining us for summer programming this year. If that's the case, please contact us to receive help with an existing reservation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

+ What's included in the pre-screening process?
All staff and Summer Adventure participants will be rigorously screened to make sure they haven’t traveled out of the country, have not been exposed to an individual with the COVID-19 virus, and have not exhibited any symptoms within 14 days. More information on this will be provided as we prepare to reopen. 

+ What are the daily wellness checks?
Participants will be greeted outside of the facility to complete their daily wellness check as recommended by the CDC. Parents and caregivers will be requested to stay until the participant has completed this process. Any Summer Adventure participant (or staff member) with symptoms (cough, vomiting, temperature above 100.4) will not be permitted to participate that day and may return when they are symptom-free. Credit will be applied to the account for missed days. More information on this will be provided as we prepare to reopen. 

+ Does my child have to wear a mask?
Cloth masks are required for staff and participants to reduce transmission of COVID-19. Our staff will review community health guidelines with participants daily.  

+ What are the expectations of parents and guardians?
Parents and guardians will ensure participants have a clean cloth mask, water for the entire day (limited access to drinking fountains), lunch and snacks. Please keep us up to date on any health concerns and potential exposure to COVID-19.

+ What are the expectations of staff?
Staff will be screened daily upon arrival including a screening questionnaire and temperature check. They will wear masks for the entire duration of Summer Adventure programming. Staff will hold a daily orientation with participants to reinforce procedures that encourage proper cough and sneeze etiquette, hand washing, and social distancing practices.

+ How will you maintain social distancing?
We will enforce strict capacity limits at our facilities. The same staff member will be with the same group of kids throughout the day and week to reduce exposure and enable us to support contact tracing. We will also restrict interactions between groups. More information regarding our programming adjustments will be released as they are available.

+ What additional procedures are you following for sanitization?
Hand Sanitization stations will be placed at the entrance of facilities and wherever food or beverages are served. An alcohol based liquid chalk will be used during any climbing activities or interaction with the climbing walls. We have dramatically increased cleanliness and sanitization protocols, including additional cleaning crews that will continually disinfect all high touch areas using high-grade cleaning agents.

+ What happens if my child is exposed to COVID-19?
In the event of exposure at a Brooklyn Boulders facility, our team will reach out to families to inform them of potential exposure. If there was exposure within your child’s small group by another participant or staff member - everyone would be requested to self-quarantine at home for 14 days. In that case, your session would be cancelled and a credit will be issued to your account.
